Given that after three years of waiting we’ve finally awaited the day when H1Z1 came out of Early Access phase, we shouldn’t be surprised by the fact that only a week later it decided to classify itself as a free-to-play title. Namely, the developer of Daybreak Game Company on the official site just announced that we will all be able to “Experience the game that put Battle Royale on the map and then redefined it with Auto Royale”, for FREE.
For loyal players who have been in H1Z1 for a long time, the developer prepared a special thank-you packages, the so-called “H1Z1 Appreciation Pack” which includes clothing, vehicle camo, 10 Victory boxes then 10,000 skulls which are representing game’s currency. As for those who have recently bought this title, Steam will refund their money in accordance with their cash refund policies.
Also, it is worth mentioning that Daybreak on 21st of April launches its own H1Z1 Pro league, the first esports league that focuses on battle royale genre. “This is also a huge opportunity to introduce millions of new players and fans to H1Z1 as we leave Early Access and introduce free-to-play attire. I think the combination of these two is very important for H1Z1,” explains the chief of the game.
