today Extreme Developers, the development company behind Tank Force, published a bit more news about the next update we can expect around half of March. They are still working hard to get things done in time. First they wanted to try to give us the update at the end of this month but obviously that is not going to happen. But our patience will be rewarded with a brand new city map, called London. Keep in mind that the name can still change. We also had similar conditions for the now called Black March map that was initially called The Swamp.
The developers made a great job with replicating Trafalgar Square in the center of London. Trafalgar Square is a public square in the City of Westminster, Central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. Its name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars with France and Spain that took place on 21 October 1805 off the coast of Cape Trafalgar, Spain.
Why do we connect Trafalgar Square with tanks? Well, that’s because the square has its history with tanks. In 1917 the Mark IV was officially presented on the square. Lots of people but also lots of politicians gathered around the tank.
Extreme Developers studied a lot of pictures from London and especially from Trafalgar Square. Here are some pictures of their work:
Personally I think it’s a pity that they didn’t put a Mark IV tank on that square. That would have given the map just that little bit more. But … nevertheless are we looking forward in playing this city map. It will be one of a kind and probably a challenge to play on it.
