Hello tank fanatics,
this article is all about interesting stuff for all those tank fanatics out there! Do you love playing tank games? Do you also love the tanks themselves and the history behind them? Do you love to know more about the mechanic of tanks? Well … this upcoming game, Tank Mechanic Simulator, will be something for you.
The game is developed by Degenerals. Degenerals was founded in IX 2017 by former .fragOut Studio developers, Michał Flodrowski and Robert Pietrzko. Both developers share passion to military and historical themed games.
In short: Tank Mechanic Simulator is about recovering and renovating World War II tanks. The player owns a tank museum and a warehouse, where he can restore the recovered tanks.
According to the developers themselves we can expect the game release at 31 August 2018. The price will be set at $15.99 (probably the same amount in Euros) but that is not a fixed price. Meaning this can still change. Also there are no plans to enable pre-ordering the game. The developers think – as being gamers themselves – that pre-orders almost always lead to disappointment.

What to expect?
Maybe the most important question is: “What can we expect with the release of the game? How many tanks will be in there? Can we expect certain tanks like tank X and tank Y?”
For the release of the game only three tanks are planned:
- Tiger I
But why only three and not fifty? DeGenerals’ current workforce is divided between implementing core game mechanics and tank modelling. When the development completes they can switch the focus onto tanks. Meaning we can expect frequent updates with more tanks after the release.
Will there be censorship for the Nazi imagery?
The DeGenerals team never approved this kind of censorship, especially in games that treat the Second World War topic seriously.
Their game is focused on history of World War II tanks, their crews and their deeds. They plan to prepare a separate presentation about every tank shown in the game, just like in National Geographic or Discovery documentaries.
DeGenerals want to make the game as historical as possible, show history as it is, backed by thorough research and help from their community.
Unfortunately they don’t have the final word in this matter. If they want to release the game to one of the biggest markets in Europe, Germany, they will probably run into the censorship issues. If their publisher, PlayWay, won’t find a resolution for this problem, they’ll prepare a censored version of the game. But, if they’re going to censor German Nazi symbols, the same situation happens for Communism symbols.
