Trove | Introduction

Trove is an open-ended voxel adventure through countless realms filled with quests, chests, and enemies great and small. It’s a potent, cube-shaped brew of RPG features combined with the thrill of exploring procedurally-generated worlds – and the unlimited creative freedom to build your own!

Several months ago I heard of this game for the very first time. It was through Alienware Arena that I’ve heard about this game. They gave away a Skyfire Crown – that’s a hat you can wear that gives you extra magical damage, physical damage, etc. So … I took that hat code, installed the game and went for a look.

At that point I didn’t do much with the game. I walked around a little bit, fired some shots, discovered that there’s also building involved in this game and that it was pretty much a more advanced and polished version of Minecraft – I don’t want to offend any Minecraft players. But further than that I didn’t really look into it.

Until now.

A couple of days ago I mentioned the game to a friend – in-game name Prutske74 – and he installed the game as well. Since then we are only playing Trove anymore! It’s such a great game. Prutske74 is an actual Minecraft player but even he said that this game has way more potential and that it’s just a way better version than Minecraft with a diversity of features added to it.

Our adventure just began.

When you’re walking around in these realms you have basically 2 modes:

  • Adventure mode
  • Building mode

The adventure mode is where you shoot at enemy entities and fulfill quests by raiding towers and castles. The building mode (by pressing the TAB button) is the mode in which you can mine materials and use those to build whatever you want. The combination of those 2 modes make this game such a fantastic action MMO.

Like I said our adventure just began. We are exploring all of the features of the game as our adventure evolves. By playing it we are learning more and more things we can do, collect, build, create and of course … slay!

I will write about this game more often. Until then … grab your friends, hone your weapons, and set off for adventure in this free-to-play, voxel-based action MMO.

Go have a look at the official website, register and download the game!

Oh yes … I would almost forget! I already made a Club Vault (The Baboons) – not a world yet, that’s for later. If you want to be part of our Club, please leave your Trove In-game name in the comments below and who knows you’ll get an invite!?
